Marketing your business online

When it comes to having a website, few topics garner as much interest and yet are so misunderstood as search engines and site ranking. But having a website alone will not guarantee your site appearing on the first page of Yahoo, MSN or Google.

Search engines index millions of pages of web content every single day, so they employ strategies to help make the pages they index as relevant as possible to their customers, i.e. the public. There are a number of strategies they employ in deciding a site’s ranking, these include the number of other sites linking to the site in question, the relationship between any keywords/meta-tags added to a page and its actual content and how often the site's content is updated.

Pay-Per-Click
Google Adwords is the most well known pay-per-click approach to getting leads. In short, you ‘buy’ some keywords from Google, for instance ‘IHT planning’, and each keyword is assigned a cost by Google. This price is determined by the popularity of the search word or phrase.  In return for buying the Adwords, your site is guaranteed preferential listing. The key to Adwords is that you are only charged if someone actually clicks through the sponsored listing and enters your website. You’re also able to set a budget, i.e. the maximum you want to pay in any given month.

We will advise you on the pros and cons of the pay-per-click approach and if you choose this route, we'll work with you in an advisory capacity to help you make the most of your campaign.

Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)
SEO is the process of optimising your site in order to improve its ranking. The process includes both page-by-page optimisation and building a network of links to your site. It's not a dark art. It does, however, require an understanding of how search engines index sites and lots of time.

Competing services will offer you SEO as a chargeable option. They're quite right to do so because, when done properly, SEO does take a lot of time. However at IFA-Netsite we have a different approach.

The IFA-Netsite approach
Either we will optimise your site for you, or we'll show you how to do it yourself! We don't mind which option you choose. The first approach saves you time, the second money. We just want your website to be successful because that way we'll keep your valuable business! It's simple business sense.

If you want us to do it for you, we'll offer a range of very competitive plans and then agree a number of key search terms and words you'd like to be found under before optimising your site for those terms. We'll even provide monthly reports that show you the ranking of your key words in all of the major search engines.
